Making lots of blocks doesn’t have to be “ruff.” You can save on cutting time by using pre-cut 2½“ strips for this doggone cute design. “Dog bones” are revealed when the simple blocks are sewn together.

Dogs are a huge part of designer Krystal Jakelwicz’s life. One of her own pups is allergic to just about everything, so she often makes homemade doggy treats for her. Depending on the ingredients, the treats come out in all sorts of colors: blueberry, pumpkin, green bean, and even watermelon. This batik collection is the ideal fabric for her dog bone design—a throw quilt she’ll happily share with her special four-legged family member.
