About this Quilt
Finished Size : 68" x 68"
Rating : Confident Beginner
Designed By : Brenda Ratliff
Most quilters have, at one time in their sewing career, made a Nine-patch quilt. We all love that familiar arrangement of lights and darks, and feel a certain affinity to quilts made with the predictable repeating square. But modern quilters have taken that humble block to the cutting table and created even more options for color and repetition by slicing it into quarters.
“Across the Line” is Brenda Ratliff’s modern take on the Disappearing Nine Patch block. This design is quick to put together and can easily be adapted in size and colorway. Brenda chose neutral text prints as background pieces and bold solids in the foreground for contrast and color.
What do we love about this quilt? It “crosses the line” from simple to snazzy as it reminds us that analogous colors can add so much to any quilt…
