Coming Unwound Quilt

Coming Unwound by Sarah J. Maxwell

About this Quilt

Finished Size : 51" x 51"

Rating : Confident Beginner

Designed By : Sarah J. Maxwell

As a quilter, I’m always looking for artwork to grace the walls of my studio. One criteria is that it really should be sewing-related. Nearly every sewing studio has a display of spools on the wall near the sewing machine for easy access and a splash of color. But just think: you could make your own spool art using Sarah J. Maxwell’s design! In this gorgeous quilt, elements of modern quilting abound: Enlarged scale, a checkerboard of interwoven “thread”, sophisticated color theory and transparency, and a giant area of negative space for standout quilting make this quilt even more amazing.

Why not hang “Coming Unwound” in your own studio for inspiration?
