Looking for an accessible quilt pattern that is fast to make but also sophisticated and easy to customize to your own needs? Look no further than “Dash”, Amy Ellis’s newest creation.

Made with 2 ½” strips pieced into strip sets, this versatile design is perfect for the quilter who wants to get the job done without lots of fussy cutting. Strip sets allow for precise piecing, cutting, and minimal measuring. And a bonus – this quilt can be made with precut strips. Who’s ready to get started?

The key to the sophisticated result of this quilt is two-fold. First, Amy chose to work in a subtle colorway using three pale hues (white, pink, and peach) in the background, then added pizzazz with pops of gold and deep blue for contrast and interest. Next, she carefully matched her flat seams (pressed open) with precise piecing. Her perfectly-matched seams are the result of pinning at an angle over each intersection. Learn this useful technique and more as you create your own version of “Dash”!
