Ombre is now – and will forever be – a design trend we love to see in a fabric line. When a single piece of fabric changes saturation from very pale to intensely colored, there is a sophistication in movement, texture, and design. The same holds true for quilts made with and Ombre arrangement of monochromatic values in prints.
“Fade Away“ was designed to play with value, creating a harmonious gray scale using prints pulled from fabrics the designer had on hand. A visually interesting yet easy-to-construct block was chosen, and then work began on creating the gradation. The result? A sophisticated quilt with lots of powerful value change. Bravo!
