About this Quilt
This design is from the Addicted to Scraps series by Bonnie Hunter.
Instructions to make the Four by Nine block can be found in Bonnie Hunter’s Addicted to Scraps column in the Sept/Oct ’13 issue of Quiltmaker.
For a 85″ x 85″ topper/quilt (as shown), you will need 64 Four By Nine blocks.
For vertical sashes, cut 72 rectangles, 1-1/2” x 9”.
For horizontal sashes, cut 9 strips, 1-1/2” x 77-1/2”.
For the border, cut 2 4-1/2” x 80” strips for the side strips and 2 4-1/2” x 88” strips for the top and bottom strips.
Sew 8 blocks and 9 vertical sashes together to make a row. Make 8 rows.
Sew the rows and horizontal sashes together.
Sew the border side strips to the quilt and trim any extra length.
Add the border top and bottom strips in the same way.
