Homestead quilt

About this Quilt

quilt-homestead-flatScrappy quilts just look so comfy and cozy, don’t they? Jo and Kelli’s generously-sized throw quilt is no exception. They selected lots of dark prints and paired them with several different neutral solids. Our instructions have you cut matching sets of neutral patches for the blocks; you may want to keep matched sets sorted together to stay organized as you sew.

Jo and Kelli say that this quilt is the ideal gift for when you aren’t sure of the person’s color preferences, and even though it’s scrappy, it has a very clean, put-together, versatile look that appeals to just about everyone.

The fabric used in the first and third borders is also in a few of the blocks, but for clarity’s sake we’ve listed all the neutrals needed for the blocks under assorted neutrals, and the border fabric is listed separately. The gray stripe fabric used for the binding also appears as a print in some of the blocks, so feel free to cut some A’s from this fabric as well, if you choose. Use an accurate ¼˝ seam allowance throughout to ensure all elements of the quilt fit together well.
