About this Quilt
This design is from the Addicted to Scraps series by Bonnie Hunter.
Stitch-and-flip with a bonus.
Instructions to make the Jack in the Box block can be found in Bonnie Hunter’s Addicted to Scraps column in the January/February ’11 issue of Quiltmaker.
Bonnie’s method for making the Jack in the Box block results in bonus triangle-squares (2″ unfinished). Use these triangle-squares to make Pinwheels. Sew 4 triangle-squares of the same color together to make a Pinwheel. Cut rectangles 4″ x 8 1/2″ for the sashing strips.
For a 61″ x 61″ quilt (as shown), you will need 25 Jack in the Box blocks, 36 Pinwheels and 60 rectangles for sashes. Sew 6 Pinwheels and 5 rectangles together for the sash rows. Sew 6 rectangles and 5 blocks together to make rows. Sew the rows together as shown.
