Nana’s Star

About this Quilt

Do you have an obsession with vintage sheets? The soft fabrics and faded floral prints make many people swoon with delight when they find these vintage beauties at tag sales and antique fairs. What do you do with them when they have damaged sections but you can’t bear to part with them? Use them, we say!

Laura Piland’s quilt Nana’s Star is soft and sweet, just like the fabric from which it is made. Lovely, in vintage fabrics, this pattern would be great in new fabrics too. Use batiks or prints to create something bolder. This pattern is easy enough for a beginner and features tips and tricks for working with vintage textiles.

Designer Inspiration/Back Story

The sheets we used when I was growing up would now be considered “vintage.” The bright whites and soft florals take me right back to my childhood. The soft feel of the sheets combined with the soft floral color palettes are both comforting and full of memories.
