“Ever since I was a child I have collected certain small things that bring me comfort. I have kept boxes and bowls filled with my tiny treasures … seashells and rocks found along the water’s edge, colorful beads and vintage buttons, and bits of lovely fabric. And so it seemed fitting—in these days when I increasingly worry over the well-being of the world—that I turn to some of these humble items and marry them together, thus creating objects of comfort. These objects are talismans of sorts, full of good mojo and calming energy.” – Victoria Gertenbach
