About this Quilt
Finished Size : 42” x 54”
Rating : Intermediate
Designed By : Silvia Sutters
Just as in the traditional cut paper silhouettes of the 19th century, this quilt uses light and shadow to create its simple yet sophisticated statement. The powerful pops of orange and pink catapult the design into the modern age, making it timeless yet setting it firmly in the current era.
Inspired by the art of paper cutting, artist Silvia Sutters plays with positive and negative space. The simplicity creates a striking look and is a great tool to use when experimenting with color and value. Her choice of low contrast analogous colors is stunning… so much so that this was the editorial choice for the cover of QuiltCon Magazine.
