Isn’t it fascinating to learn where designers pull their inspiration?

As a modern quilt designer, Daisy Aschehoug gathers inspiration from many sources, including the work of artists who work in a variety of different media. One of her favorite art print studios headed by artists Kristina Sostarko and Jason Odd, Inaluxe, creates contemporary wall prints and illustrations. Their prints feature mid-century modern and regularly curved shapes stacked playfully on top of each other as a frequent design feature. Daisy used the palette from one of their prints and created a design of her own with rules for symmetry and precision. The resulting quilt is an unexpected plaid with an unpredictable pattern reminiscent of punched out holes.
