About this Quilt

quilt-river-cabin-flat

Designer Natalie Crabtree takes log cabin blocks up a notch in River Cabin with a stylish center unit and rotated block placement that create wonderful secondary patterns. The rich colors and textures of blue and green batiks transport us to thoughts of floating down a tranquil lazy river.

The enduring log cabin block is a favorite for quilters. Traditionally, the center patch is symbolic, often representing light or the hearth. While log cabin blocks are a fantastic place to use contrasting dark and light fabrics, this particular quilt shows us how similar hues combine to show off the beautiful batik designs. Our eyes are drawn to the brighter center patch along with each block’s navy and green outer strips, giving this quilt both dimension and depth. Scrumptious fabrics combine with a timeless block to create a quilt that won’t disappoint!
