Smoke & Mirrors

About this Quilt

Peggy’s lovely twin-size quilt pattern uses a gorgeous focus print and an unusual triangle stitch-and-flip technique that is fast and fun. The clever block design and on-point setting disguises the individual blocks to create a dizzying delight of a design.

You’re probably very familiar with using the stitch-and-flip technique with square patches, but in this pattern you’ll be using the technique with triangles. The concept is exactly the same as with squares except you’ll be aligning triangle points instead of square corners. The diagram in the pattern will help you orient everything correctly and master this unusual and useful skill.

You’d never guess that this quilt has an on-point setting, but it does! It’s tricky to tell where the blocks are just by looking at the quilt, but the pattern will make sense of everything. We’ve included a color option with the pattern that shows the blocks in a standard setting, you’ll see what a difference the angle change can make. Step into the funhouse and make this tricky delight of a quilt.
