About this Quilt

quilt-syringa-flat

Syringa vulgaris is the scientific name for the common lilac. Syringa is a beautiful quilt designed and constructed by Kay Wright Handy. Kay used the stitch-and-flip method to create all of the triangles in her quilt and basic piecing. What makes Syringa so special is Kay’s use of fussy-cut centers in her blocks. She used the Lilacs in Bloom collection by Jackie Robinson for Benartex Fabrics and fussy-cut a lilac for the center of each of her blocks. This quilt finishes at 68 x 87 ½”, making it a perfect fit for a twin bed.
