The Snow Day Quilt featuring Flying Geese units

Our best-selling online course is back and better than ever! APQS Longarm Certification Sponsored by Quilting Daily has been revised and updated. Not only will you learn how to make beautiful quilts, you’ll also gain skills to turn your passion into a paycheck with tips on how to run your own quilting business.

Drawing on memories of her North Dakota childhood for inspiration, designer Kari Schell created Snow Day in blue and gray batik quilt fabrics. The fabrics give it a classic, cool look, and each of the quilt blocks are set on point (meaning they are turned 90 degrees to make a “diamond” shape in the quilt instead of a “square”), which makes the Flying Geese units look as though they are taking off! Our Sew Easy tips help make the constructing the Flying Geese units simple. If you’ve never experimented with flying geese quilt units before, this quilt can be the perfect introduction to the technique, especially with our Sew Easy video!
