Trillion Dream Quilt
This quilt is a magical blend of value, color, and shape, all creating an ingenious pattern of triangles and hexagons that moves your eye across the composition. Designer Becky Rico created this design by arranging half-hexagons of different values on her design wall. Flipping and turning the shapes, grouping them by color and value, then arranging them in triangles, she soon had a unique quilt with a fun theme. And if you are new to Y-seam construction, you’ll soon be an expert!
Becky’s quilt is a magical blend of value and color selection. She mostly kept the blues and reds together, but look carefully and you’ll see her whimsical addition of a red hexagon in an otherwise blue strip unit here and there. Using a design wall will make this process easier.
