Aviary Block of the Month | Nancy Mahoney | Runtime (6 min)

A big beautiful peacock is the center of attention in Block 8. Nancy felt that it was easiest to pre-fuse the peacock in three different sections, and she demonstrates pre-fusing the tail section, which involves skipping over some of the ordering of the pieces on the fusing guide. Because many of the tail feathers are layered, the spot where each piece should be fused isn’t always completely clear, and Nancy gives tips for working around that. She then shows which order to applique the head, body, and tail sections to the block’s background.
