Welcome to Design Wall Tuesday! We’re so glad you stopped by to see what the editors of McCall’s Quilting and Quiltmaker magazines have been working on:
From Content Director, Carolyn Beam:
I’ve got the pieces for the last hexagon for my Quiltmaker May/June ’18 issue cut out and ready to baste. It seems hard to believe that I’m working on something that won’t be published until next year, but the due date for this project to meet our photography deadline is the end of this month.
I find handwork a nice and relaxing activity and so portable. I keep everything I need in a handy little portable plastic zippered pouch.
From Managing Editor, Tricia Patterson:
I was very busy this weekend with my youngest grandson. We started a project on his loom, painted Mandala rocks and watched movies.
I sneaked in a couple of hours to prepare a few more blocks for my Christmas brown quilt. These blocks have become my holiday side project and I’m committed to making at least 3 blocks every weekend. It’s a project just for me.
From Acquisitions Editor Lori Baker:
I’m having such fun making these. They can be small for mug rugs, larger for hot pads or even larger for a rug. That’s what this one is – the beginning of a rug.
I’m wrapping strips of batik around cotton clothesline rope, coiling the rope and then zigzagging it together.
From Associate Editor Erin Russek:
From Associate Editor Anissa Arnold:
I spent time this weekend doing hand applique on my 2017 BOM quilt Down the Rabbit Hole by Sarah Fielke. My dogs were kind enough to help me out.
Thanks for joining us! I hope to see you next week as we share more quilty inspiration.
