The approach of spring brings with it bits of green appearing seemingly overnight in spots that just the day before were all brown. This week’s free quilt pattern download is named Bushels of Color, but is actually an alternate colorway in lovely green, brown and cream prints—think of it as the early spring version of the original quilt in full bloom.
This simple two-block, large throw quilt is quick to piece and appropriate for confident beginners. Our instructions have you make Sixteen-Patch Blocks using 32 assorted width-of-fabric strips and strip-piecing techniques. If you would like even more variation in your blocks, you can piece them using 2½” squares.
