Maybe it’s because spring in the Northeast has turned into a major cloud-fest, but I’m drawn more and more these days to images of pink quilts. Especially scrap quilt patterns made up in pink colorways. There’s something about all those assorted pink fabrics harmonizing together that lifts my spirits and brings a smile to my face. It’s like a fabric garden! I hope you feel the same way when you see this week’s Friday Freebie, Girlie Girl by Toby Preston:
Another reason I love this free twin size quilt pattern is the block itself. It’s a fun combination of log-cabin-like piecing and strip piecing that makes great use of a scrappy assortment of fabrics with the added element of a green “frame” that unites all the blocks. It’s kind of genius!
Girls of all ages will love this pretty, easy-to-piece quilt. Make it for a single bed, a couch cuddler, or use as a bed topper on a larger bed – it’s all good!
