This week’s Friday Freebie is one of the prettiest quilt patterns for beginners that I’ve seen in a long time, thanks in large part to sweet fabrics from LakeHouse Dry Goods. In the Simple Scallops quilt design, printed fabric is fussy-cut to make best use of scalloped motifs, and the results are adorable. Here’s a glimpse of the fabric in question:
Pretty cute all by itself! But when you follow the free quilt pattern and cut and piece the scallop strips as instructed, you end up with a queen size quilt that looks like it came from a high-end bedroom show room:
Of course, you can use the free quilt pattern with other fabrics as well. Construction is simple and fast, especially for a queen size quilt.
