Patterson Kathy 225px 150x150 Friday Free Quilt Patterns: Snow Kissed StarChristmas is ten weeks from today. Sobering thought, isn’t it? Considering how long it takes to piece, quilt, and bind the average quilt, we are running out of time to make new holiday accent quilts for our homes and thoughtful gifts for family and friends. That’s why I know you’ll appreciate this week’s Friday Free Quilt Pattern, Snow-Kissed Star designed by Konda Luckau:

Although Konda’s clever design creates the look of a modern Lone Star, there are no diamond shapes to cut or sew, and no set-in seams. In fact, strip piecing is the fast technique used to construct the star units. Konda used fabrics from the Flurry collection by Kate Spain for Moda for her sample quilt, but I think Kate’s newer collection Jingle could work just as well for this pattern, and it’s widely available right now.
