If your garden is still depressingly bare, floral-themed FREE appliqué quilt patterns may be just what you need to lift your spirits. I started working on some floral appliqué quilt blocks this week, and my mood has improved exponentially! So to share the happy vibe, this week’s Friday Free Quilt Pattern is going to be Tulip Twist, designed by Laurie Tigner:
Laurie used fabrics from the Basically Patrick collection by Patrick Lose for RJR Fabrics to make this quilt. All the fabrics are solids/textures, so this design is easy to make even if you’re using stash fabrics.
I love the sense of rhythm created by the alternating directions of the tulips…kind of like a garden in a spring breeze. The pattern uses a fast fusible web technique for the appliqué, so these sweet tulips take shape before you know it! As you can see, the templates are simple but very effective. In no time, you’ll have an indoor garden to brighten everyone’s days as you wait for the outdoor flowers to bloom.
