226 | How to Back a Quilt

My First Quilt | Sara Gallegos | Runtime (7 min)

The back of your quilt can be a plain whole-cloth backing, or a printed whole-cloth backing, or it can be fancy. Sara shares several examples of finished quilts that have different types of backs. Some are whole-cloth, some are pieced with leftover scraps from the front’s fabrics, and some include pieced blocks and designs that make the quilt almost reversible. Sara also gives tips for how to figure out how much backing material you’ll need for your quilt.
