I’ve been sewing more Star Blocks since I last wrote about my version of Saddle Tramp. Maybe I’m weird, but when I work on a scrappy quilt, I like to cut and sew just 1 block at a time. I love to savor each pretty new print I add to the quilt.
Ooooooh! Love this paisley!
Aaaaaaaah! Love this one, too!
The simpler, less splashy prints look great too. I love making these blocks!
Okay, I have to admit I’m really, really crazy about these large paisley prints.
And the blue/multicolor prints work well as backgrounds as long as the star print is quite simple.
Oops! I goofed up cutting the star patches, so here’s my “creative” fix!
Another beautiful Star Block.
I’m nearly out of dark blue 10″ squares for the backgrounds, but found this blue in my stash. I think it will blend beautifully with the Moda prints.
Here are the Star Blocks I’ve sewn so far, arranged on my design wall with the skinny strips I cut from the 10″ squares. I’ve added a few more prints to the strips. It looks quite patriotic, don’t you think? Who doesn’t like red, white, and blue (and tan!)?
More soon, and then we’ll have a giveaway!
