Love of Quilting November/December 2019: Something for Everyone

Love of Quilting

I’m always excited when we get to the end of a cycle for a magazine and I can see how it all looks together. I’m really liking the November/December 2019 issue of Love of Quilting. I feel like it has something for just about everyone.

First, in case you are ready to start making this year’s Christmas quilt, you have two choices. The cover quilt is Connie Kauffman’s String the Lights. It’s one I’d love to make. It uses all of those beautiful plaids … it’s lovely.

Charisma Horton designed and made Path to Grandma’s House. Made in traditional Christmas colors with a house block and trees and stars, it’s a sure fit for anyone’s holiday décor.

I really love vintage – vintage linens, vintage fabrics, and especially vintage quilts. This issue has an amazing vintage quilt, Mint Condition, rescued and quilted by Mary Yoder, a Handi Quilter national educator.

Sara Gallegos made Home to Kentucky on an episode of Love of Quilting TV. Check out this blog to see the original quilt by Cheryl Miller that inspired Sara’s quilt.

Cabin in the Pines from Abigail Dolinger is a quilt I fell in love with from the moment Abigail proposed it. It has lots of techniques so it’s a great quilt to stretch your quilting skills. And don’t you just love her color scheme??

The last one I’ll tell you about is For the Love of Quilting designed and made by our Interim Art and Editorial Director, Denise Starck. It is a part one of a series quilt created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Love of Quilting magazine.

There are six other great projects in this issue. Look for it at your local quilt shop or on newsstands. Or purchase it at our website.

And as always, you can also subscribe to get every issue of Love of Quilting.

Until next time,
Happy quilting!
