Make a Quilt to Comfort a Child
If you enjoy making charity quilts, here’s an organization that would love your help.
When seriously ill children are hospitalized, they spend countless hours alone or with one parent, and a quilt can be a source of comfort for them. Quilts for Kids is an organization dedicated to wrapping children with life-threatening illnesses in quilts. To date, their volunteer quilters have made a difference in the lives of over 100,000 children in hospitals across the country. “Seeing a child fall asleep with a smile on his or her face-that’s perfection for me,” says Quilts for Kids founder Linda Arye. “It is what we are all about. A simple thing like a quilt seems to have magical powers when we place it on a child.”
