McCall's Quick Quilts Feb/Mar 2019Though we are still in the midst of winter, bundled up and warming ourselves in front of the fireplace, spring is just around the corner. The first day of spring, otherwise known as the Vernal Equinox, is March 20 this year. So now is the perfect time to start thinking about sprucing up your house to usher in the approaching season. In this issue of Quick Quilts, we have an abundance of quick and easy quilt projects you can whip up while the days are still cold and dark. Come spring, you’ll be ready to brighten your abode with fresh projects in lovely spring colors or themes.

In this issue, we have focused on quilts that can be used to decorate your home. From walls to table tops, including small-ish quilts that are a great way to add color, softness, and design to your house. Walk in the Park, Spring Sunrise, and Shaded Star are patterns that are not only quick and easy to make but are small enough that they could be hung on a wall. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have your version of Spring Sunrise hanging in your foyer, greeting your friends and family when they drop by for a visit? Table tops are another great place to add some quilting accents into your living space. Rainbow Road and Valentine’s Brunch are patterns for table runners, while Tweet Treats is a sweet pattern for a table runner and placemat set.

Whether you call it “Cabin Fever” or “Spring Fever,” now is the time to come out of hibernation and start preparing for those long, warm summer days!
