That slow week between Christmas and New Year’s is the perfect time to indulge in some binge quilting. We’re revisiting a great mystery quilt, Walk in the Park, by Debbie Caffrey.

In the second installment of our binge-worthy mystery quilt, we asked staff members what movies they watch while they work. Bonus points for quotes, we told them.

“OK, don’t hate me, but Frozen. What can I say? My niece got me hooked. I’ll spare you the quotes,” says Vanessa. “And often, I’ll re-watch the entire BBC version of Pride & Prejudice. ‘But, if I’m really lucky, perhaps in time, I may meet with another Mister Collins…’”

Vivika DeNegre, Content Director Quilting Arts
Vivika lists three movies on her go-to movie watch list: Little Women, Julie and Julia, and Shrek. No quotes given, though, so no bonus points received.

Anissa Arnold, Associate Editor of McCall’s Quick Quilts
Anissa, an acknowledged Star Wars fan, says, “Of course I queue up Star Wars episodes four through seven. ‘Aren’t you a little short for a stormtrooper?’ and ‘This is some rescue.’” Nice!

Lori Baker, editor of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting
Lori lists four classics, with classic quotes to accompany three for the win: Pretty Woman (“People’s reaction to opera the first time they see it is very dramatic.”), Dirty Dancing (“We’re supposed to do the show in two days. You won’t show me lifts, I’m not sure about turns. I’m doing all this to save your ass and what I really want to do is drop you on it.”), Sarah Plain and Tall (“There are always things to miss, no matter where you are.”), and Grumpy Old Men.
