Quiltmaker January/February 2018 magazineKick off the New Year with fresh new quilt designs in the Quiltmaker January/February 2018 issue! Find six creative designs using just two blocks from popular designers including Wendy Sheppard and Nancy Mahoney. Scott Flanagan’s stunning combination of Log Cabin and Star quilt blocks will warm up the cold winter days. There’s also a clever design in two sizes, both using pre-cut strips, along with a brand new Project Linus pattern and more.

Let’s preview some quilts!

Caribbean Sunset, designed by Nancy Mahoney

Cover Quilt: Caribbean Sunset features beautiful stars sparkle in a lattice of blue in this classic two-block quilt. These clever blocks give the illusion of a complicated on point setting without all the work.

Snowbirds, designed by Tricia Patterson

Snowbirds: Create a snowy mountain town with Tricia Patterson’s Snowbirds quilt pattern. This quilt can be made using the original colors or can be made scrappy to add some more diversity to your own version of this little mountain town.

Color Me, designed by Mary Hertle

Color Me: Foundation pieced boxes of crayons make this cute baby quilt too cute to pass up. Just pick your three favorite colors and you’re ready to sew.

Prism Blooms, designed by Wendy Sheppard

Prism Blooms: Create a color explosion with this stunning bed quilt by Wendy Sheppard. A variety of tone-on-tone batiks were used in contrast with a rich, dark background. Carefully placed colors and blocks can create a pattern within the overall pattern or place blocks and colors completely randomly for a more scrappy appearance. Kits available.

Fresh Air, designed by Terrie Peterson

Fresh Air: Bring the magic of nature indoors with this pretty quilt. Two tree blocks and a snowflake block are arranged to create a pleasing radial design that can be enjoyed all season long.

Briar Rose, designed by Diane Harris

Briar Rose: Strip piecing steals the show in this delightful quilt. Three simple blocks combine strip piecing and simple triangles to create a unique lattice of color. This quilt is easily adaptable to a variety of fabric preferences.

Hi. I am a newbie to your quilting page and love it. The best so far. I live in Australia and placed an order and was so surprised to find out how cheap your postage was so thanks you won me.
I would like to find out how to subscribe to copies of quilt maker magazine and other magazines. I prefer hard copy not on line. Thank you and I will be back!
