Peace Cottage Quilt Along: Lesson 3 of 12

Laura Stone Roberts | Runtime (18 min)

Log Cabin quilt blocks are a traditional favorite of many quilters. Host Laura Roberts demonstrates how to piece the Log Cabin quilt blocks used in section B of the Peace Cottage quilt. She gives tips for chain piecing each section of the Log Cabin blocks in order to put all fourteen Log Cabin quilts blocks together in one sitting and shows how to use small strips to make sure your sewing and pressing are giving you an accurate quarter inch seam allowance. Once all fourteen of your Log Cabin quilt blocks have been pieced, the next step is to join them together to create section B. Laura shows you how to make sure you don’t have seams to match when joining the blocks together and gives tips for keeping your fabric color placements looking random.
