Today we’re welcoming designer Kristin Lawson from alittlecrispy.com as a guest blogger on Quilty Pleasures!
She’s going to tell us about her Pixel Plaid quilt she designed for our March/April 2017 issue. This bright and scrappy throw quilt is easy to make and finishes at 62 1/2″ x 62 1/2″:
In today’s blog post I thought I’d show a few alternative color variations of my quilt, Pixel Plaid, so you can see what it would look like in different colors.
Here is the original quilt:
Now, when I first designed this quilt, I envisioned it in underwater colors, deep teals and turquoises:
However, it also looks very bright and fun with a dark gray background and blues and oranges:
And you can also play with color in the little flowers. Make some of them the same or similar color as the background and you get a different look too:
And lastly, who can resist black and white and red?
Hope this helps you to see some more design possibilities!
