Quilty November/December 2017 magazine coverHAPPY WINTER, QUILTY PALS!

‘Tis the season—for quilting! With snowfall bearing down and the holidays just around the corner, all of us with the quilting bug should be feeling extremely satisfied with our practical-yet-beautiful hobby of choice! After all, it’s hard to not love a quilt when the snow piles up on the sills and the wind howls through the trees. Even if you’re lucky (like me) to live in year-round warm(ish) weather, any slight dip in temp is a great excuse to get snuggly under a quilt.

This issue of Quilty is here to help you snatch every inch of joy winter can bring. Sometimes, let’s be honest, it’s hard to find the fun in frigid. But we’re here for ya! Whether it’s a simple but cozy flannel quilt, like All Boxed In, or a full-on quilted love affair with outerwear, like Sweater Weather, we’ve got your winter quilt needs covered.

This issue features more than just large and lap quilts. The gorgeous appliqué Snowflake Topper is perfect for those quilters looking for a bit of a slow-stitching. And the Season Opener pillow is a fast sew, offering a quirky nod to the hunting season.

While you’re slowed down by the weather, let this be the time to skill build with Quilty! From beginner friendly log-cabin style blocks, to paper-piecing, applique, and curved seams, Quilty offers plenty of opportunities to sew and grow our skills together.

So go ahead and build that snowman! There’s a warm quilt waiting for you inside. Happy holidays from all of us at Quilty!
