Quilty September/October 2018

Hey Quilty Peeps!

My name is Tracy and I am sew very excited to be joining the team at Quilty. Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I find it particularly fitting that this is my first issue. I love everything about the holiday – the spooky decorations and especially all of the possibilities for sewing.

I must admit this issue is adding several new quilt designs to my quilting bucket list. Let’s start with our cover beauty, Sisters of the Dark. What a great way to use Tula Pink’s iconic fabric designs. Looking for a quick project to make? Spooked Geese is a great way to use up all that adorable holiday fabric you have been hoarding (guilty as charged!) and, with its oversized blocks, you can stitch it up in no time.

Love the look of vintage? Don’t miss Laura Piland’s quilt Nana’s Star and her tips on using oh-so-soft antique sheets in your quilting projects. We also have two features about yarn-tied quilts; Ties To The Past is a cozy design by Teri Vanden Bosch, and Ebony Love talks about how to longarm previously yarn-tied quilts in Fit To Be Tied.

Why don’t you grab a warm cup of cider, snuggle up with this issue and start dreaming of your next quilt project? We have filled these pages with lots of inspiration to get you through until next time.

Happy quilting!
