My First Quilt | Sara Gallegos | Runtime (8 min)
Applique can be used for a variety of different quilt types. Sara starts thinking outside of the box in this episode with a cute house block for a landscape-style quilt. She shows two different house blocks and a tree block from the quilt in the background which contains a small neighborhood. Sara uses a heavier weight applique stabilizer to stick the pieces of her house block to the block’s background. Once the house, roof, windows, and door are in place, Sara uses both traditional and non-traditional applique stitches on the Babylock sewing machine to add decorations to her block while stitching the pieces down.
