Check out Krystal Jackelwicz’s latest pattern for The Quilty Company – Sisters of the Dark, available in the September/October 2018 issue of Quilty magazine. Krystal designed an easy star quilt pattern that was made extra special by using De La Luna by Tula Pink for FreeSpirit Fabrics.
Krystal’s design aesthetic has been fed by a childhood love of crafts and quilting. She has blogged about her crafty efforts since 2013, and just three years later, began submitting her gorgeous work to our family of magazines. Lucky us! Krystal’s work has been featured in Fons and Porters, McCalls, and now – Quilty!
With Sisters of the Dark, we are captured by the fact that black is the predominant color, and that the choice is just the thing to enhance the unique presentation of the vivid colors. It is constructed using triangle-squares and stitch-and-flip techniques, making this star quilt easy to construct. Finishing at 67″ × 67″, this quilt is the perfect Halloween or Day of the Dead throw.
