WHAT YOU GET
The APQS Certification Class for Fons and Porter is a 14-week-long online class filled with videos, images, and instructions with easy to follow steps guided by Dawn Cavanaugh, APQS National Education and Customer Service Director. Share your progress with fellow community members and work with APQS store owner and instructor Myrna Ficken on a private forum in a collaborative and interactive online environment. Submit homework assignments by mail and email for evaluation and credit. Receive feedback and ask questions.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
DAWN CAVANAUGH Dawn's freehand quilting has been winning awards since 1994 when she opened her business, Rockin’ Bobbin Quilting, Inc. Her quilts have received first-place wins at AQS Paducah, MQX and MQS and many more national quilt shows. Teaching others how to be successful machine quilters is her passion. Named the MQX Teacher of the Year for 2008, and was nominated again in 2009 and 2014. Dawn continues to inspire others at such venues as Houston Quilt Festival, MQS, NEQF, PNQF, Machine Quilting Today, Australian Machine Quilters Show, and many quilting and longarm guilds worldwide. Dawn shares her expertise in national publications such as Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting and On Track magazines. As National Education Director for APQS, Dawn helps quilters all over the world develop a love for their craft, just as she has.
MYRNA FICKEN Myrna Ficken is a busy, outgoing artist with a passion for quilting and creating! She is an exceptionally talented, award-winning quilter and a well-known educator in the longarm quilting industry. Myrna has traveled and taught at quilt shows and other quilting events all over the United States as well as at various international events. She has won many awards with her work over the years and was nominated for Teacher Of The Year in 2007. Her work has been published in books and magazines in the quilting trade. Myrna also has several longarm quilting DVDs available. She brings a fresh outlook to her classes and techniques and she encourages students to be progressive and innovative. Myrna is a generous and gracious educator who sincerely enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with others. Her enthusiasm for the art and her dynamic personality are contagious and bring a positive sense of energy to all of her classes and gives her students confidence.
