This scrappy oven mitt pattern was created by Kaelin Telschow, and was featured in Modern Patchwork 2012. "This cute oven mitt will not only help you use up leftover scraps, it will also make it easier for you to avoid burns and remove heavy items from the oven."
Finished size 7½" × 30"
Primary fabric (for the pocket lining and mitt body), ½ yd.
Thermal batting, ¼ yd.
Secondary fabric (for the underside of the mitt that will touch the pans), ¼ yd.
Assorted scraps at least 9" in length (for the pieced pocket exteriors)
Cotton batting, 9" × 18" piece
½" bias tape, 3 yd. package

Paper, cardstock, or template plastic (for making the templates)
