Many quilt designs and quilt block patterns require us to make strip sets, sewing multiple long fabric strips together. Whether they are then used as is in the design, or cut into segments, this bit of strip quilting seems easy, right? Sew a bunch of strips together…ta dah! But without a little attention to detail, your strip sets can end up wonky or even unusable, and nobody wants that.
That’s why we taped a short video with tips for making accurate strip sets. From cutting the strips, to best practices for sewing them together, to essential tips for pressing, it’s all included in a FREE 5 minute video!
And when you’ve mastered your strip-set making skills, your patchwork will be much the better for it. Blocks like the Joseph’s Star patterned in the May/June 2013 issue of McCall’s Quilting will go together easy as pie!
