This talented young lady is Tula Pink, popular designer for Free Spirit Fabrics and quilting world sensation. Tula is one of the most original, exciting voices in today’s quilting industry, as well as a successful entrepreneur and bold, fun personality. I am SO EXCITED to announce that McCall’s Quilting’s parent company, F+W, is partnering with Tula to bring you an awesome new video series, Tula’s House, and a complete range of new products all related to her new Eden fabric collection.
I can tell you first-hand…Eden is an intriguing, inspiring line of fabrics. I had the opportunity to design and make a quilt using this collection recently, and I loved every print available.
I worked with the aqua/blue/gold colorway and especially enjoyed finding a way to feature the gorgeous motifs in the Crouching Tiger print. Here’s a sneak peek of Tula herself, and McCall’s Quilting editor Deb McDonald, with the quilt I made. City Safari will be patterned in the upcoming December 2015/January 2016 issue of McCall’s Quick Quilts, and kits and backing fabric are coming soon!
So there you have it…I’m a dyed-in-the-wool Tula Pink fan, and if you aren’t already, I encourage you to get to know her and her work. She’s a truly original talent and her fabrics and other designs are influencing the quilting world in big ways!
Here’s what we have coming up with Tula…follow the links and enjoy, everyone!
